 Who's Who

  • Dave Joseph head shot

    Dave Joseph

    as Mel Edison

Dave has been a fixture at R-ACT since their inaugural season in 1992's production of 'Barefoot in the Park'. He has portrayed a variety of roles with R-ACT from Elwood P. Dowd in 'Harvey' to the Cowardly Lion in 'Wizard of Oz'. He's won Best Lead and Best Supporting Actor awards in Comtra's CATPAWS Festival and the Pittsburgh New Works Festival. Having waited for nearly 20 years to win the part of Mel in 'Prisoner...', he says this production has been the thrill of a lifetime!

  • Ruthy Stapleton head shot

    Ruthy Stapleton

    as Edna Edison

Ruthy is thrilled to make her R-ACT debut. She has been seen most recently in improvised comedy with THE CELLAR DWELLERS (Rochester) and COMEDYSPORTZ (Provo). While studying Linguistics at Brigham Young University, she worked on various student productions, short films, and comedic stagings including LAUGH OUT LOUD (Provo). Some of Ruthy’s earliest theatrical work, though well-received by middle school audiences, was panned by critics as “Disruptive to the learning environment” and “Persistent inappropriate behavior. Please see me after class.” She remains to this day incorrigible. For the role of Edna, Ruthy draws inspiration from her real-life marriage to a sensitive, loyal, and slightly neurotic man.
