    Director

    Jeannette serves on the RCT Board of Directors and has been involved in many RCT shows as a performer and choreographer. She is a retired Reading School District math teacher and the co-founder and co-director of the YNOT Awards program in Berks County. She is also the director of Reading High School’s show where she will be celebrating her 40th year. “I love the school show and my show kids as much now as I did all those many years ago.” She is the proud mom of Angela, our choreographer! Thank you to Angela and Dani for taking the journey from “the heights” to “the swamp.” I can’t even begin to imagine taking this journey without you. And to my entire creative team, I have loved every minute of working with such talented and dedicated individuals, whose friendships I hold so dear! “I’m a believer” because of this amazing, talented cast and staff that have worked so hard! Thank you, TEAM SHREK!

    Dani Merkel

    Assistant to the Director

    Dani was happy to spend her summer back in local theater with such a talented group of performers. She choreographs for Reading High School where she was assistant choreographer from 1986 -1990 and choreographer from 1991 to the present. Her proudest accomplishment, aside from her two children Alexa and Colby, is Co-Founding the YNOT Awards in 2005.

    Angela DeAngelo

    Choreographer

    Angela is a professional actress who has performed both regionally and nationally. Angela got her start on stage at the age of 2 1/2 when she started taking tap and ballet classes. As a dancer, she is trained in tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, hip hop, modern, and African dance. In 2012, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree with a theater major and dance minor from Muhlenberg College. She has been performing in Berks, Lehigh and Lancaster counties. She recently portrayed one of her dream roles, Diana, in Muhlenberg Summer Theatre's production of A Chorus Line. Other performance credits include Fiona in Shrek the Musical, Tracy Turnblad in Hairpsray, Amy in Little Women and Eponine in Les Miserables. Offstage, Angela has also dabbled in both directing and choreographing. This past spring, Angela assistant directed and helped to stage Reading High School's musical, In the Heights. Angela can next be seen as Sally in Rainbow Dinner Theatre's production of the comedy Drinking Habits.
