 DIRECTOR'S NOTE

Red Bank Regional Theatre’s production of Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast,” is a magical musical version of a “tale as old as time” about the power of the love of a girl named Belle, who overcomes the obstacles of fear, loathing and the horrible curse brought about by pride; as she finds the heart of a lost prince and saves him from the beast he has become.  Set within a small provincial village in pre-Revolutionary France and in the cursed castle of an arrogant prince the story weaves poetry, myth and music in a kaleidoscopic, panalopy of whimsical characters from the passionate candelabra Lumiere to the ingeniously designed Cogsworth, and the unforgettable music of Alan Menken.  This musical smash hit is a timeless fable of the danger of seeing only the outward form of beauty and not noticing the hidden heart of true beauty from within.  Can Belle’s love set the Beast free from the curse before time runs out and the last rose petal falls?  Only time will tell.

Enjoy,
