After reveling in the huge success of last year’s first-ever musical at RES, the daunting task of choosing a show for this school year began. Should we produce another Disney show? Maybe expose the students and our audiences to a classic? What junior and youth productions are even available?
Fun and recognizable music kept coming to mind as well as the pure joy and energy that elementary students bring to everything they commit to. With those elements (fun, joy, and energy) ROCK OF AGES - YOUTH EDITION seemed like the perfect fit!
This musical has a ton of heart and infectious energy! We hope that it serves as a bit of nostalgia for many of you and that by the end of the show, you are singing along, smiling from ear to ear, and perhaps dancing in the aisles! Tonight, you’ll hear songs from David Lee Roth, Poison, Night Ranger, Starship, Styx, Twisted Sister, Foreigner, Bon Jovi, Quiet Riot, Quarterflash, Pat Benatar, Europe, Whitesnake, Steve Perry, Survivor, and Journey!
