Director's Note

"Omigod, you guys," this pink monster of a production would not have been possible without the ongoing grit and enthusiasm of our Theatre students at the Redmond Proficiency Academy. Over 50 students (and 2 dogs) came together to bring this sequin-studded story to the stage. I am incredibly proud of and humbled by the dedication of each and every one of them.

In most high school theatre departments, the girls outnumber the boys three to one. RPA Theatre is no exception to this rule. This show is an opportunity to showcase our surplus of female talent. This is not to say our male ensemble is anything but phenomenal; however, this is the final show for some senior ladies who have committed endlessly to this department. This is their fabulous send-off.

Our production is a celebration of the strength, determination, and optimism of all of our young ladies at RPA. After all, as Elle says, “We girls have to stick together.” So, while Legally Blonde is an over-the-top sparkly musical that blatantly mocks stereotypes, it is also a powerful story of persistence and empowerment. Leave it up to "little Miss Woods, Elle" to show us how valuable we can be.

The ongoing support for educational theatre from our Central Oregon community has been overwhelming! Thank you for joining us this evening and enjoy the show.
