The Addams Family - April 17 - April 25, 2020

Redmond Proficiency Academy

 End Notes

They’re creepy and kooky, mysterious and spooky, they are all together ooky, the Addams Family is full of nothing but love.

From Gomez’s passion to Morticia’s maternal instincts, we have cherished the Addams and their bizarre style for decades because they are unafraid to hide their truest emotions. Tossing away societal demands regarding appearances, the Addams cut right to the heart of family values: love, support, and acceptance. This sentiment echoes RPA, as we are a culture that has been judged based upon inaccurate assumptions. At our core, however, we are a place for everyone to move toward their own unique “darkness” and find a place of belonging because of who we are and where we come from, not despite these things.

The RPA Theatre family consists of many seniors who are ready to take their next steps and welcome the unknown. To their loving family and friends who have offered support over the years, I hope that you can find solace in Gomez’s advice, “And the moment we start weeping, that's when we should smile.” For my beloved seniors, I am happy and maybe more than a tiny bit sad. I want to thank you for your years of dedication and for creating our own kooky family where everyone finds a home.

Thank you for supporting educational theatre at Redmond Proficiency Academy and joining us tonight as we “move toward the darkness...and smile.”
