Jase Smith Sullivan
Managing Director
began his arts administration career nearly twenty years ago at Firehouse Theatre where he last served as producing artistic director. He has held various executive leadership positions at theatres and performing arts centers from coast to coast. Sullivan earned a BA in Theatre from The College of William and Mary in 2005 and studied Shakespeare at Cambridge University in the U.K. He earned his MFA in Theatre from VCU in 2008, where he also served as an adjunct faculty member. He is a recipient of Style Weekly’s Top 40 Under 40 award. For Richmond Shakespeare he has directed Into the Woods (RTCC noms. for Best Musical and Best Direction, Musical). Favorite regional directing credits include HAIR, The Wild Party, POP! Who Shot Andy Warhol?, The Rocky Horror Show, RENT, The Great American Trailer Park Musical, Reefer Madness, Zanna Don’t and Christmas with the Crawfords. Sullivan is a proud member of Stage Directors and Choreographers Society.

is excited to make his Richmond Shakespeare directing debut. He has directed internationally at the Ukraine Fringe, with ProEnglish Theatre of Ukraine, the Romanian National Theatre (Craivoa), the University of Craiova and the MeetFactory (Prague). A generation ago he directed productions for many theatres in Richmond with some of his favorite old school RVA credits being subUrbia and Jails, Hospitals & Hip-Hop (Theatre Gym), Gross Indecency: The Three Trials of Oscar Wilde (Barksdale Theatre), The Laramie Project (Theatre IV/Richmond Triangle Players), Stop Kiss (Richmond Triangle Players), and Marisol (Firehouse Theatre). In New York he directed Checking In (June Havoc Theatre) and favorite regional credits include Hamlet (Actors Guild of Lexington, KY), Romeo and Juliet (Cincinnati Shakespeare Company), The 22 Day Adagio (Mill Mountain Theatre), Avenue Q and The Rocky Horror Show (Warehouse Theatre, SC) and A Flea in Her Ear (Centre Stage, SC).

has worked as a stage manager for almost two decades in Richmond, Virginia. Theatre companies she has worked with include Firehouse Theatre, Cadence Theatre Company, The Children's Theatre Company at Virginia Repertory (formally Theatre IV), Sycamore Rouge, Henley Street Theatre Company, and Dogwood Dell. She is the Company Stage Manager for Richmond Shakespeare where she has worked on countless productions.
