    James Smith

    Director

    Footloose marks Mr. Smith 39th stage production and the 13th musical he has directed at Ridgewood. He sponsors the RHS Drama Club and is the troupe director the Thespian Troupe 6662. He currently teaches American Literature and English 1. Outside of Ridgewood, Mr. Smith is the Chapter Director for Illinois Thespians. He'd like to thank his wife and daughters for all their love and support!

    Footloose makes Beth's 3rd production as an assistant director. She thinks the Drama kids are the coolest students in the world and thanks Mr. Smith for hiring her for the best gig ever!

  • Monica Hansen head shot

    Monica Hansen

    Vocal Director

    Monica Hansen fell in love with musical theatre when she was cast as a munchkin in the Wizard of Oz. This was about the time Smith was born! She was a member of Addison Trail Thespian Troupe 1498, Monmouth College Crimson Masque, and Addison Community Theatre. She is currently singing with the Park Ridge Chorale. At RHS, Mrs. Hansen has directed the music for You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Little Shop of Horrors, The Wizard of Oz, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Once upon a Mattress, Bye Bye Birdie, Annie, Zombie Prom and Grease. Mrs. Hansen would like to thank all the students who took a chance and tried something new. Her greatest joy as a director is seeing her students become singers! Remember, “the best way to spread (Christmas) cheer, is singing loud for all to hear!"

    Chelsea Ward graduated from North Central College in 2015 with a major in Musical Theatre and a minor in Dance. Besides pursuing a performance career, she works around the Chicagoland area as choreographer and costume designer. Chelsea is humbled and honored to be a part of her second production at Ridgewood and would like thank Jim and all the kids for their hard work and dedication!
