The Little Mermaid - May 12 - May 22, 2016

Rim of the World High School

 End Notes

Mrs. Tracy Olsen- Director

I am thrilled to have directed this years musical, Disney's The Little Mermaid, and to work with such a wonderful cast, crew, and orchestra.  These talented students have put their hearts and souls into creating an enchanting world under the sea, where we can all journey for a while.

This beloved Disney musical was a part of my family as my daughters were growing up, as I know it was or still is for most of you.  We are all greatful that you are continuing to share the magic with us today, following Ariel's journey together.  We are all reminded through this story of the importance of being true to one's self, and that sometimes we have to face unknown challenges and make difficult decisions to become the person-or mermaid- we were meant to be.

Thank you to all of the theater students for their dedication and hard work - this program is a success because of you!

A huge thank you to Miss Naim, who has done an exceptional job with the music program at RHS, and who made our pit orchestra a reality this year.

Thank you to my family for their support during each production, as I spend countless hours in the theater.

To my seniors, this is a bittersweet time. I thank you for all you have done to build our program in the Rim Theatre department.  I have cherished my time with you, and know you will make a huge difference to the people you surround yourself with out in the world.  Reach for the stars!

Thank you to Marla Marganian for her hours of time and endless energy spent to make the dream of a Theatre Booster program a reality.  Please come join our new Theatre Booster Club, to support our students and the arts at Rim High School.

Lastly, thank you, our community, for enthusiastically supporting our Rim students and their passion for the arts.  As funding in public education continues to diminish we cannot lose the importance of not only maintaining but growing our arts programs in public education.  For many of our students this is why they remain in school, and we cannot lose sight of that.

I hope you enjoy your time today " Under the Sea" - thank you for being here.

Miss. Abir Naim- Musical Director

There aren’t enough words to describe just how much I have enjoyed teaching all of you this music. The Little Mermaid is not just a symbol of my childhood, but it’s also the music that inspired me to become a musician. I feel honored to have been able to guide you to perform this show, and I am beyond proud of every single one of you. You have risen up to the level of professionalism that I laid out for you and your hard work will show when the audience watches you on the stage. Cast, pit orchestra, and crew you will rock the house tonight, and no matter what happens I am incredibly proud of you. Break a leg!

Both Mrs. Olsen and Miss Naim wish to thank Rim Administration for their support of the Theatre and Music programs.
