Red, White, & Tuna - June 17 - June 18, 2022

Ritz Community Theatre

A Note From the President of the Board

Good evening,

Thank you for attending tonight's Red, White, & Tuna performance. The board of Governors of the Ritz Community Theatre has been working hard to ensure that we bring quality arts entertainment to our community. It has not been easy in the last few years to keep our doors open, and we appreciate the support of our patrons and community members.

We joined the Snyder Downtown Merchants Association this year and have been excited to work with them on the events going on downtown! As a part of our season planning for this year, we had tentatively scheduled a murder mystery event in June that we planned to decide on later. However, an opportunity arose to help support the Scurry County Museum with their murder mystery event, so we took that event off our calendar. We were then left to figure out what to program into this slot. When we learned that the Farmers Market kickoff event would be this weekend, we knew we wanted to perform something to coincide with this event.

Chad mentioned that he wanted to do another Tuna show this summer, so we started looking at scripts and determined that Red, White, & Tuna would be the perfect title to perform this weekend. Tindol Insurance generously agreed to underwrite the cost of producing the show. We cannot express our thanks enough to them for providing the opportunity to add this show to our performance calendar. Thank you to Tindol Insurance for your continued support of the performing arts in our community.

This show is the third installment in the series of plays set in the small town of Tuna, TX! We have performed the first two shows, Greater Tuna and Tuna Christmas. This show utilizes many of the same characters and introduces a few new residents to the town of Tuna, where the Lions Club is too liberal, and Patsy Cline never dies! Don't worry if you haven't seen a Tuna show before. This show stands independently and will have you laughing throughout the evening. Be prepared for lightning-quick costume changes and characters who may seem familiar to you. The characters in this show represent small-town West Texas life well as they go about their comedic antics.

Thank You again for joining us for this evening of comedy and theatre. Sit back, relax, and enjoy Red, White, & Tuna!

Thank You,

Glenn Burns
President, Ritz Community Theatre Board of Governors
