DIRECTOR'S NOTE

Over the past few years, something I've tried to do is to find material where high school age students portray high school age characters. Hence, my pursuit of producing Mean Girls these past few years. I believe it provides high school actors the opportuntity to portray characters that they can accutely relate to as well as their experiences. It is also poignant to watch the emotions brought by the students as they work on the end of the school year in the show as they themselves are ending their own school year and for some, the end of the time in public school in real life.  Be warned, this musical does accurately depict what students have to endure, especially the social mindfield of high school.

We will miss our graduating seniors Isa, Maddox, Emma S, Nathan, Kyan, Morgan, and Emma Z. It has meant so much to work with my former student and recent River Ridge High School graduate, Rachel Knowles, who had her own senior year cut short because of Covid. I'm eternally grateful to my long time collaborator, Darrell Huling who I can't ever imagine ever doing a musical at the high school without.

ENJOY THE SHOW!
