What’s The Hobbit?
The Hobbit is a tale of trolls, dragons, and magic rings, yes. But it is also about an ordinary person who leaves behind a comfortable life - and, quite possibly, the respect of his friends and relations- to seek adventure in the wide world. It's true, the wizard Gandalf brings dwarves and danger to Bilbo's door, but it is his own two furry feet that bring him through Mirkwood Forest to the secret entrance of Lonely Mountain. What would you foresake when adventure comes knocking?
It is also important to note Bilbo's careful chronicling of the quest. More than gold and jewels, it is the experiences and people he meets that are of value.

Founded in 1978, The Robertson County Players, a volunteer organization, have performed over 90 productions on the stages of Robertson County. We are proud of our community, and proud of the people who pour themselves into each and every production. Our goals as an organization have not changed in the many years since the curtain first opened. We hope you enjoy the show!
