Mary Poppins - February 21 - February 24, 2019

Roswell High School

 End Notes

It is difficult to express in words what happens on your journey to producing a musical.  You hold auditions not knowing exactly who will step onto the stage.  You begin rehearsals with a vision in your mind but not knowing how the finished performance will actually unfold.  There are students you know well and students you don't know at all.

Somewhere in the midst of all the rehearsal, laughing, and hard work, the art begins to come to the surface.  People begin to connect with the words and then the music, the drama, and the dance begin to tell the story.

Mary Poppins is such a wonderful work to illustrate what happens when people begin to care for each other, use their imaginations, and believe that their dreams can come true.  For each of us who have lived with Mary now these past few months, we have seen that Anything Can Happen.  Mary Poppins has taken us on a journey where we have discovered new talents and new dreams that we did not know we had.

We have been so blessed to work with this fine group of young people over these past weeks.  To the families of our students, thank you for allowing us the opportunity to create this special art form, musical theatre, together.

As we dance, sing and tell our story we hope you feel the joy these students share, the love they have for each other and our show.   On behalf of all of us, we hope you enjoy Mary Poppins!  May each of us find our gingerbread stars.
