This was my first shot at trying my hand at directing a show. It was apt that it was Once Upon a Mattress as this is the first show that I remember seeing performed ever. I also feel blessed to have been able to work with such an amazing cast.
Live theater is created by four elements. Element #1 consists of the creators who wrote the show. They give us the story to re-create. Thank you for this wonderful story!
Element #2 is the Production Team, and I have had the most amazing dream team a director could ask for. Geoffrey and Brian are the best producers anyone could ask for. Jason was absolutely amazing in helping with the program, making most of the props, and making the amazing set that you’ll see during our show. Greg is the amazing music director who brought out the voices of my cast, and gathered all these outstanding musicians in our pit. Thanks all of you! Erin and Megan are the wonderful duo that managed to choreograph all of the songs in the show. Thank you! Jana and Sam - the people that managed to get everyone in the spectacular costumes that you will be seeing in the show. Thank you! Catherine and Meg; had, by far the most important job, keeping me sane from day one and helping me shape my vision. Without them, this show wouldn’t be nearly as wonderful as it is. Thank you! And a big Thank you goes out to Owego Free Academy and Chenango Valley High School who lent us props, costumes, and set materials, and Saint Francis who let us practice and perform in their gym.
Element #3 is the marvelous cast and musicians! You are the best cast I have ever worked with! I have fallen in love with each and every one of you! Thank you!
And Element #4 is you, the audience. Your support of live theater allows us to exist. Thank you!
