Of all of the Disney movies I watched as a kid,
Peter Pan always stood out to me.
A story about a boy who never grew up and lives on an island with pirates, mermaids, fairies, and lost boys.
Wait.
Never growing up?
Fighting with pirates and adventuring with the Lost Boys?
Flying around with fairies and swimming with mermaids?
Sign me up!
For those that know who I am, that is exactly what happened.
I never really grew up.
(At heart, at least.)
You could even say that my students are my Lost Boys.
In a world where kids are growing up too fast and
wanting to join the adult world too soon,
Peter Pan definitely has the right idea.
Be a kid for as long as you can.
Find the joy and fun in every moment.
Let the lovely thoughts lift you up when you are down.
------
I have had the most amazing time working with this group of wonderful human beings (and their families).
The energy, effort, and humility these kids have shown while tackling the huge task I have given them... I truly could not be prouder of each and every one of them.
To my student leaders: I couldn't have done it without you. Thank you for being you in every moment.
I also want to thank all of the parents for the support, patience, and time they've given to make our show a success.
Finally, to Geoff and Marsha, to being the calm in my chaos.
Special Thanks
