 How to Give

Charitable Donations to
Saginaw Choral Society

As a non-profit arts organization, Saginaw Choral Society depends upon the philanthropic generosity of its patrons to ensure long-term financial stability. There are many ways you can have your tax-deductible gift work now or in the future to sustain the Choral Society for years to come.

Please consider one of these:

Annual Donation – Saginaw Choral Society accepts cash or securities at any time.

80 4 80 Campaign – make a gift to this sustaining campaign to ensure the longevity of another 80 years for SCS. Gifts of $1,000 and above will be recognized on our
80 4 80 board at concerts. Pick up a brochure in the lobby.

Bequest – name Saginaw Choral Society with a specific gift or residual bequest in your Will or Trust.

Life Insurance Gift – name Saginaw Choral Society as a beneficiary.

Charitable Distribution from your IRA* – Individuals age 70 ½ and older must take Required Minimum Distributions from their Traditional IRAs each year.  These distributions are taxed as ordinary income and must be taken regardless of whether the extra income is needed.  Tax laws allow such individuals to make “qualified charitable distributions” of up to $100,000 per year from their IRAs without counting the distribution as taxable income. By making a qualified charitable distribution from your IRA to the Saginaw Choral Society, you can benefit a worthy cause and satisfy your Required Minimum Distribution without reporting additional income.

You can also leave a legacy preserving the choral arts in Saginaw County by making a contribution to the Saginaw Choral Society Endowment Fund at Saginaw Community Foundation. Please contact SCF at 989-755-0545.
