Clue - November 17 - November 19, 2023

Saint Mark's High School

 End Notes

Director's Note

Romans 12:19-21 says "Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave room for the wrath of God; for "Vengence is mine, I will repay says the Lord." Many times in our life when we are wronged or put in a difficult position, we tend to want to fix it or exact vengeance on someone we believe is an enemy. In this production of Clue, you see that each guest has some issue, some skeleton in the closet, that weighs on them and causes them anxiety. Becuase of this, each character tries to create their own version of justice and execute it (as well as execute someone) which ends up creating a house of chaos and pandemonium. Clearly the Bible is right, we would do better to leave it God to take vengence.

I would be remiss if I did not recognize the work that the cast and crew have put into this production. All of the students and parent volunteers have given hours upon hours to make this show the best, most entertaining that it can be. The dedication of all of our students, parents, and volunteers is inspiring. Putting on a theatrical production has a way of creating and bringing a community together that everytime makes me pause and stand in awe of what has come to be on the stage.

Thank you for your support of the theatrical arts, an art that imparts on students vital skills such as communication, teamwork, imporvisation, presentation, sacrificing for something bigger than you, and many other skills that are hard to find anywhere else.

I hope that you enjoy the show, have a few laughs, and as you look for who the killer is just remember - let's leave the whole vengence thing to God.

Enjoy the Show!
