NOTES FROM THE DIRECTOR

Abracadabra! Welcome to our magical show. It has been such a fantastical ride and truly a labor of love. These students have worked so hard and have been so willing to commit to this experience and for that I thank them deeply. It cannot be easy to engage completely over zoom, create this believable (while funny and satirical) show, characters with depth, and oh yeah, be full-time students (or staff). How does it happen? Magic!

I tell my students all the time: I truly believe in theatre magic. Somehow everything always just seems to come together in the end. Even when things may not be going right, technology doesn't cooperate, and it seems like a big mess, somehow, some way the end result seems to surprise. In a year where things have not always gone right, technology hasn't cooperated, and it has certainly been a big mess, I believe that somehow, some way there will be a good "end" result. I hope the magic (and humor) of this show is not lost on us, that it can provide a smile or two, and that it can give us new ways to look at what we once thought was familiar - there is still a surprise or two to be found.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to ALL participants who worked on this project. Whether it was one line or plenty, one character or several, or one hour of your time or many many hours, you all gave it your best and made this a fun experience. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making this show come alive, for allowing me to see your own magic shine through, and reminding me of all the new ways to look at things and surprises that are out there! A big Puff hug from me to you!
