Courtney Nemec (Producer) has enjoyed working with the theater students and staff for many years, and this year she is thrilled to be the Producer of She Kills Monsters. Ms. Nemec is a fifth-grade teacher at Nettingham Middle School. She is so proud of the hard work and dedication of all the students involved in this production. She would like to give special thanks to Jan Allen, Randi Sosny-Handler, Wayne Mallette, and Morgan Knight for all of their help and support in this new endeavor!
Morgan Knight (Director) is returning for a fifth year at SPFHS. Previous productions at SPFHS include Les Misérables, A Christmas Carol, The SpongeBob Musical, Radio Play Anthology, Chicago, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Mamma Mia!, and Peter and the Starcatcher. Morgan is on staff at the Ridgewood High School New Players Company, where credits include Clue, Mamma Mia!, The Great Gatsby, Godspell, She Kills Monsters, The Three Musketeers, The Taming of the Shrew, Twelfth Night, and Hamlet. Other production credits include Peter Pan, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Annie, Newsies, The Wiz, Bonnie and Clyde, Sweeney Todd, The 25th Annual... Spelling Bee, Jesus Christ Superstar, among others. Morgan studied theater at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Morgan is an instructor of stage combat and has finally fulfilled his promise to put a fight show on the SPFHS stage.
Evan Perrotta (Technical Director, Stage Crew Supervisor) is excited to be making his SPFHS Theatre Debut! After graduating from Muhlenberg College with degrees in Technical Theatre and Nonprofit Administration, he did a short stint in Los Angeles, working on theatre and film sets, and then made his way back to Union County in 2020. He has most recently worked at the McCarter Theatre Center on their production of Ride The Cyclone on the Company Management Team. He is ecstatic to be here. Enjoy the show!
Joanne Sprague (Costume Designer) Joanne is excited to be back for the SPFHS Fall production, She Kills Monsters. She has been involved with the Rep Theatre family since the 1980s and has watched it grow into an amazing company.
Joanne has previously costumed for Cranford Dramatic Club, STARS Theatre and South Mountain Y Performing Arts. She would like to thank the dedicated costume crew, especially Emma, who has led this crew of monsters. Retired from the YMCA, she has more time to play dress up. Her favorite role to date is being Nonna to her heartbeats, Gabriella, Sara, Isabelle, Damian and Baby Sprague who will make their debut in March. Love to her beautiful family. Peter Avagliano (Lighting Design/Scenic Construction) is happy to be working
with the talented staff and students of Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School. Peter brings 30+ years of production experience to the stage and has been involved with projects from community theater to Broadway to Disney. Notable credits include Les Misérables and Aida at Union High School, The Little Mermaid at The Walnut Street Theater, Xanadu at The Eagle Theater and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, in Orlando, FL. Peter hopes that She Kills Monsters is just the start of a new relationship with SPFHS.
