Hello!
Thank you for streaming Scotia Glenville Drama Club's production of Ordinary Days! We are more than excited to be sharing with you this production which is happening just a little over a year after our last production was shut down. Being a high school senior this year who is majoring in theater production next year, I was not going to let this time go bye without creating a show with my friends one more time. With the help of the administration, especially Mr. Bednarek and Ms. Lussier, I was able to propose the idea of a small virtual musical. While I knew this was a very ambitious project to take on especially on top of the responsibilities of being a high school senior, I knew it was something I needed to do. While we would normally be putting on a show with 50 students involved and an audience full of excited theater-goers, I am just as excited for you to see what we were able to accomplish from the comfort of your homes.
To say that I am proud of everyone involved in this show is an understatement. Ordinary Days is a show done completely through song, and relies significantly on acting through song as there is little set to show exactly what's going on. These actors were able to express every emotion through a screen with masks on. I knew we had just the right bunch of kids as soon as we got to our first virtual rehearsal and everyone came prepared with ideas. This show was done as a collabritive effort. Everyone's ideas came into play, we were able to work with one another to create this performance. Since this is my directoral debut, there were many things I was completely clueless on. If it wasn't for the imaginations and drive of this team, we would not have the performance you are about to see.
I want to thank the administration and all of our sponsors for allowing us to continue to create and perform. I also want to thank the cast and crew for all of their hard work and dedication to this show. In trying times such as these, we all needed a light and I think being able to work in our auditorium truly brought that light, and we hope we can now share that with you all. Finally, a big thank you to our advisor, Michael Camelo. Without you, not only would this show not be where it is today, but I would not be where I am today. I hope you all enjoy this production, and make sure to stay tuned for whats to come with our club!
Enjoy,
Olivia Kaye
