Why Choose "Into the Woods"?

There are plenty of reasons why "Into the Woods" is a great choice. It offers fantastic roles, introduces you to Stephen Sondheim's work, but what I find most appealing about this show is its creativity. It's not just about blending characters into a new story; it's about showcasing each character's unique creativity. Take Cinderella, for instance—her decision to leave her shoe behind shows that she's in control of her own story, not just a passive part of it. That's a lesson I hope our students take to heart.

We kicked things off by getting creative with our cast. Instead of having one Narrator, we split the role into 6, like 6 kids gathering around a campfire to spin a tale. We also noticed the incredible talent in our ensemble and wanted to give them more time in the spotlight. That's how we came up with our Storybook Players pre-show performances. The students picked the stories and decided how to tell them, giving classic tales a fresh twist.

As you dive into the enchanting world of "Into the Woods Jr.," I encourage you to embrace your own creativity. Let your imagination run wild, and let the story inspire your own creative journey.

Thanks for joining us on this adventure. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the show!
