Picasso at the Lapin Agile - December 14 - December 16, 2018

Shepaug Valley School

 End Notes

Notes from the Director - Timothy M DeRosa

Theater is a collaborative art form that employs a myriad of talents, skills, and abilities in one physical space with the common goal of storytelling in real-time. This is the magic of theater: every person involved--from building the set to delivering lines on stage--is integral to the process and the experience. Most importantly, theater is and should always be fun. The cast, crew, and volunteers of Picasso at the Lapin Agile shared the same passion for storytelling with laughs along the way, and they displayed unwavering optimism, creativity, and enthusiasm throughout. Picasso at the Lapin Agile is a sophisticated play for a sophisticated group of people, and it has been an absolute joy and pleasure to work with each and every person.

I am unbelievably grateful to (in order of appearance) Thomas, Jake, Ellie, Bridget, Harlequin, Wyatt, Wilson, Henry, Isabella, Sofia, Lydia, and Tyler for their handwork and eagerness to tell a hilarious story. I am indebted to Tegan for her wisdom, vision, and willingness to take charge. I am thankful to Noah, Tim, Alexa, Liz, Kaylee, Kayleigh, Jack, Devon, and crew for getting the stage up and running. Thank you to Julie King for taking the time to promote and market the play. Thank you to Doug and Martha Winkel for aiding me along the way, and thank you to all who came out to help get the play off the ground.
