The Fabulous Fables of Aesop”, originally created by the late Keith Galloway, has been presented over the last 30 years in various guises all over South Africa.

Originally performed in 1992, it was presented at the Waterfront Theatre College during a specially arranged cultural festival for children from disadvantaged backgrounds.

The fables were presented in a mixture of English and isiXhosa. Surprisingly, the show has never been filmed in its entirety, although there have been over 15 versions throughout the years.

Keith Galloway trained at the Mary Archbutt Studios in Manchester UK, obtaining his teaching qualifications in Classical Ballet, Modern Theatre Dance and Tap through the I.S.T.D. London. Upon graduating he became a soloist with the Austrian Ballet Company whilst doing his National service.

Keith appeared in, choreographed and directed no less than 17 West End musicals, prior to arriving in South Africa in 1976. His professional West End credits include “Man of La Mancha”, “Hello Dolly”, "Westside Story,“ "The Three Musketeers," and "The Music Man.” He was also one of Bob Fosse's most prominent dancers.

He first came to South Africa in 1970, with his wife Delia Sainsbury, after being offered a choreographic residency for the fledgeling South African Broadcasting Company. Together, Keith and Delia founded The Waterfront Theatre College for the Performing Arts, now located in Cape Town, South Africa.

Keith went on to work extensively in television and movies, where he wrote, directed and choreographed over 30 original productions and launch literally hundreds of professional careers.
