LETTER FROM THE BOARD PRESIDENT

As you enjoy today’s performance of Once Upon a Time – A Fairytale Triple Bill, I want to thank you for being a part of what has been both a challenging and memorable season for the Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet. Your presence in the audience today means the world to the dancers on the stage, from those performing in their first ballet to our graduating seniors who will soon take the next step in their journeys (with pointed toes, of course!) It is the dancers’ joy and passion that drives all of us to support SMB and work to ensure that they can continue to share their talents with our community. Please congratulate all of our dancers for their beautiful performances this weekend. They are truly the heart and soul of the Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet!

Our Artistic Director Kendra Meiki, Executive Director Heidi Gerkin, and countless volunteers are instrumental in bringing our ballets from vision to reality. At every performance, am I reminded how grateful I am for the many people who selflessly give their time and talents to SMB. This organization draws its strength from the contributions of each of its members and everyone has an important role to play.

Thank you again for being here today to enjoy Tales of Beatrix Potter, Little Red Riding Hood, and The Three Little Pigs. We are proud to bring these beloved children’s stories to life for the Shreveport-Bossier City community!
