A Note From The Directors
First, to the cast and crew: Although we're sure you're glad to be done with us, we can't believe another musical has come and gone. We are so incredibly proud of each and every one of you and the amazing production you created here once again. Our community is lucky to have such talented, gracious, and loving students.
Love. That's really what this show is about, isn't it? And not just the superficial, infatuous, butterflies-in-your-stomach-when-a-cute-someone-asks-you-to-the-dance kind of love, but a true, deep, unconditional love that grows even when we are not-so-cute or not so lovable. This show isn't called Belle and the Beast. It's called Beauty and the Beast. Named not for the character but for the love that grows in her heart for someone the world has deemed unlovable. That's not a message we hear too often in our outwardly focused society. We are proud to be a part of something that affirms that you are more than what appears on the outside; that love has the power to transform us from our worst into our best; and that above all...love wins.
Finally, there are many people that need to be recognized. Without their support, generosity, creativity, and help, none of what you see tonight would have been possible. So, if you see one the following people, please join us in thanking them because these words alone are certainly not enough: Amy Stratton, Abby Steinke, Sandy Fair, Jill Gates, Eileen Ferree, Tina Werntz, Kathy Ogg, Damion Skeans, Lehman Catholic High School, Piqua High School, the Sidney YMCA, all those who helped load in the set, organize props, tailor costumes, sell tickets, take tickets, and hand out these programs. We also need to thank our Superintendent and Administrators for believing in us and supporting this dream.
Thank you for coming and enjoy the show!
