Seussical the Musical Jr. - April 20 - April 21, 2023

Director's Note

“Our show begins with ‘Oh, the Thinks You Can Think,’ an energetic song (but was, at first, a book written in ink). As I sat here and I thinked, and I thunked, about what a director could write that won’t be debunked; I recalled the greatest Thinker of all, the Lord and Creator of the universe, and I sat in awe. He created you and me, the children on stage, and although life is often crazy, He remains unchanged. You may feel alone in the universe, like Horton or JoJo the Who, but the fact still remains - God is Lord of the universe, and He created and loves you.” Seussical, Jr. has been a wonderful experience for me as a director. Each of these students has been a delight to work with, and I am astonished at the talent and heart that each of them has. Thank you for entrusting them to us. I hope that as you enjoy tonight’s show, you are reminded to think up new thinks! The Lord has created each of us and given us special talents and abilities. I pray that when you leave, you are inspired to use the abilities He’s given you for His glory in the same way our students have.

Thank you to our star office staff, Bridget and Kimberly, for helping with ordering me supplies, putting together our cast shirts and programs, and so many other tasks unnoticed by me but honored by the Lord. Thank you to Carrie Fuoco for being an excellent producer and supporter of our students and of myself. I am confident that I am a better educator and follower of Christ for having worked with you. Lastly, thank you to Steven Clagg for your unparalleled support of these students, the Fine Arts program, and the ministry of the Gospel here at Skycrest.
