Something Rotten! - March 05 - March 20, 2021

South PA

 A Note from the Director

"Something Rotten!" wasn't in our original plans for the 2020-2021 South PA season. We announced our season for this year to the kids in January of 2020 and... well, we all know how the world has changed since then. There were several considerations to factor in coming in to this school year and we came up with at least 20 different plans (no exaggeration) between March and August. "Something Rotten!" was always the gargantuan show we joked about, but never really took seriously. Then one day we decided to listen to the music and really thought through how it could be good for the kids, so we inquired about rights and the rest is history!

In short, it has been an amazing experience. The kids worked so hard and had a lot of fun with the content, the characters, the music, and the choreography. Being able to be together and do what we all love has been remarkably good for the soul. We told the kids at the beginning of the year that this year would look different than previous ones, but we could still do our art - it just had to fit in a new box (a few thought I was talking about a literal box, so after we cleared that up it was pretty effective, haha!)!

If you're a parent, family member, or friend of any of our cast and crew we thank you for sharing them with us. I can't wait for you to see what they've been working on! Enjoy the show!

Rachel Munn for being just the actual best at all of the things. Thank you for your fantastic music direction, keeping me sane, all of our lunch dates in my office, tackling this year with grace and kindness, being an amazing friend, and so many more things I don't have enough room to write about. You are the peanut butter to my jelly (on toasted end pieces of bread).

Brandon and Milly for holding me together. Words can't express my love and appreciation for our family, and I am so lucky and blessed to share my life with you crazy, amazing, funny humans. You guys are my favorite.
