Moliere has said that unbroken happiness is a bore; it should have ups and downs.
This production has been anything but boring! We have been challenged to produce a show in the library while our theater begins its renovation. We have challenged ourselves to explore and absorb an old and unfamiliar acting tradition, to create most of the costumes for our show from scratch, to attempt new (to us) set design techniques, to memorize dozens (and for some, hundreds!) of lines while also trying to keep grades up, relationships and commitments intact, athletics and other educational and extra-curricular goals on target, and all with a spirit of joyus giving.
Moliere has also said that the greater the obstacle, the more glory in overcoming it. What a glorious moment we get to share with you! Thank you for being here, and for supporting the hard work and sacrifice of this group of talented thespians. And a special thank you to the families who've helped with front-of-house duties and providing meals for the cast and crew. Your help is greatly appreciated.
We hope you'll join us on Monday, May 13 as we welcome in our new International Thespian Society members, and bid farewell to our senior class. I'm told they're planning a biographical portrait of their esteemed director that is not to be missed.
Enjoy the show!
