From the Director:
In the year 2020, I happened upon a musical, that fit my students and staff beautifully. Aida was a beeautiful show with an amazing heart breaking ending with beautiful music, realistic relationships, and amazing opportunities for students to shine. I never thought I would find a show to top, Aida... until now.
When I heard of Once on This Island, I just knew this was the show to rival Aida, with the right cast. Beaux Coleman and I have been talking about the show, since last year. He presented himself as the best candidate for our Choreographer this year, and I couldn't disagree. He has been the best Dance Captain for 3 years, so of course he was the perfect choice. Once he saw my commitment, he gave the music a chance, and fell in love with it like I did. I am so grateful that the cast and crew fell in love with the story. They have come to understand, that in our world today, Love is stronger than anything else, even Death.
I am very proud of the work our students at Spring have accomplished. They have worked very hard for the last few months, giving up their holidays, building and painting, preparing props, publicity, and of course learning the
choreography, singing, and bringing those parts to life. I'm hoping this musical will someday be someone's positive memory from their past, be it, actors, parents, technicians, and
crew. These students have made lasting memories, that will never fade.
Especially for me, as this is my last musical to direct. Thank you for making my last year amazing. I love you all.
Congratulations cast and crew. I am very proud of you!
Mrs. Marilyn Ocker
