To the most amazing Cast and Crew of Camp Rock,
I cannot tell you how proud I am of each and every one of you. We pushed hard in rehearsals and you met every challenge with a smile. This show is a huge accomplishment and you should all feel so proud of yourselves. Your passion and talent shine through so brightly.
Every week, I was excited to see what new element of your character you found and brought to rehearsal. It was a great moment for us to see when you all slipped in to those characters and truly owned the stage. Seeing you out there bringing this story to life is such a thrill for me and watching so many of you find a love of theatre at such a young age is fantastic.
This year was our first time with a student led crew and I cannot be happier with the group who stepped up. There was a lot of differing opinions on how this would turn out but I think you all showed them that the students of St. James can do it all! You worked so hard and it shows in the set and in your work.
Camp Rock is about standing up for yourself and finding your voice and I think you all did that this year - from contributing to choreography to telling us when a direction or line didn't work. I have had a lot of fun learning from you as I hope you learned a little from Ms. Angela and me during our time together.
Parents, thank you for bringing your students to rehearsals and helping them with lines at home. The time commitment of a show like this is enourmous and we appreciate every minute you gave us! We could not have done it without your support - at home and here at rehearsals. You really made this process so much easier and we thank you for it.
But more importantly, I want to thank you for sharing your children with us. Their smiles and joy in putting on this show were great to see every week. And I hope you see that joy, excitement and growth reflected in their performances this weekend. They've come so far and worked so hard!
Thank you all for this opportunity to bring Camp Rock to life here at St. James and I hope you enjoy all that these kids are bringing to the stage. Remember - THIS IS OUR SONG! WE ROCK - CAMP ROCK!
