Welcome to our production of "The Wizard of Oz!" From the very first rehearsals to tonight's performance, directing this show has been an absolute joy. Each step along the Yellow Brick Road has been filled with laughter, creativity, and hard work, all culminating in the magic you're about to see on stage.
We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the parents of our cast and crew. Musical theatre is a tremendous commitment, and we couldn't have done this without you. Thank you Mr. & Mrs. Tanner, Mr. Gumpert, Mrs. Kolitsidas, and Mr. & Mrs. Teixeira, who generously gave up a Saturday morning to help put the finishing touches on our sets and costumes. Thank you to Mrs. Cabiya, Mrs. Savino and Mrs. Sweeney for making our munckins extra sweet. Thank you to Mr. Dews for making our monkeys fly. Your contributions have added immensely to the vibrancy of our show and we are so thankful for you all.
A special thank you to Father Ivan and Mr. Frenette for their continued support of our drama club. Your encouragement and assistance have been invaluable.
Our student stage crew deserves a huge round of applause. Nearly all of the sets and props you see tonight were built by these talented students, and our backstage operations are expertly handled by them as well. They are truly the backbone of this production, ensuring that every scene flows seamlessly and every cue is right on time.
Working with our wonderful cast has been the most fun. Their enthusiasm, talent, and camaraderie has made this process not just rewarding but truly delightful. Each cast member has brought something unique to this production, and it has been amazing to direct them and watch them grow as actors. As we raise the curtains tonight, we hope they all know how incredibly proud we are of what they have achieved.
To our cast and crew: in the spirit of Oz, use the Brains, Love, and Courage that God gave you every single day.
And to our audience: we encourage you to cheer loudly, applaud vigorously, and perhaps even give a "WHOOP!" if you feel moved to! Your energy makes all the difference. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the trip down the Yellow Brick Road to the magical land of Oz.
