Thoroughly Modern Millie - April 26 - April 28, 2018

St. Joseph High School

A Few Notes About the Show

Welcome to Thoroughly Modern Millie,

We are so pleased that you could join the 102 St. Joseph High School students who are a part of this fabulous production.  That's nearly 10% of the SJHS population on, or around, our stage this evening!

Join us as Millie, a rural girl from the plains of Salina, Kansas tries to make it in New York City.  She encounters a wide array of characters: from young actresses, to amorous Cantonese men, corporate stenogs to glamorous jazz singers.  It's exciting to see Millie change from a doe eyed girl to a worldly and experienced woman.

The students in this production have worked exhaustively during these past few weeks to make up for MONTHS of snow days, cancelled practices, early dismissals, etc.  What you see before you is truly THEIR show- they have been breaking off into small groups and rehearsing one another offstage while the adult staff is working onstage with their peers.  It's been a true labor of love and a testament to the work ethic and passion that the students at SJHS have for our drama program.

I am blessed to be a part of the lives of my drama students and my adult staff, as we work together to create art for you.

Please sit back, enjoy, and try to remember the first time that you saw 'the big apple' by seeing it through Millie's eyes.

Sincerely,

Kathleen Cardillo
