Stonehill Theatre Company

 Crew Who's Who

  • John Cariani

    Playwright & Director

John Cariani is a Tony Award-nominated actor and a playwright. As an actor, he’s appeared on Broadway, off Broadway, and in several films and television shows. As a playwright, he’s best known for his first play, Almost, MaineLOVE/SICK is his third play, and John is very happy that Professor Matt Greene wanted to tackle it with his students at Stonehill College—during a pandemic. What you are about to see is a strange hybrid of film and theater. It took about four months to complete. We began rehearsals in September via Zoom. And then, in November, our cinematographer, Alex Rouleau, shot each scene separately—and in one take—to try to create a “live” feeling. And then our tech wizard, Ryan Glista, spiffed up what we shot with his editing skills. Thanks, Alex, Ryan, Felicia, Abby, and Matt, for making this happen. And huge thanks to this amazing cast. Great talents. Great work ethics. Great people.
