In October 2017, my wife traveled to Washington, D.C. to watch Stratford alum (and our wedding singer!) Grey Henson premier Mean Girls in the first audience performance. She's since become a Mean Girls Groupie. She saw the show twice in D.C., and then traveled multiple times to New York throughout the next year to see Grey perform. She was present the day the Tony nominations were announced and Mean Girls was nominated for 12 Tony Awards (including Best Featured Performer Grey Henson), having a great conversation with Lorne Michaels on stage at the August Wilson Theatre about his start in show business as a Lost Boy in Peter Pan when he was 8. To say this show is special to our family is a massive understatement. When the rights to the High School version became available, we knew this show needed to be done on Stratford's stage.
I am so proud of this cast and crew and so thankful to our faculty, administration, and board who have been so supportive of the fine arts. We want to dedicate this show to Grey Henson and all of our current and former students who have been a part of our fine arts programs.
