Rent - November 05 - November 08, 2014

Stuyvesant High School

 End Notes

Hello all!

Thank you for coming to the Stuyvesant Theater Community's production of Rent. Working with this incredible cast and crew has been an exceptional experience, and we are so glad to share with you our final product.

As a production, Rent is not only a phenomenal Broadway show, but also combats the stereotypes surrounding sexuality, gender expression, race and the negative connotations associated with the AIDS crisis of the 1980s. The issues addressed in this musical are portrayed in a beautiful way that works to individually educate and move each audience member. Although Rent deals specifically with the late 80s and early 90s, its message is still extremely prevalent today. Its depiction of acceptance and love is a reminder to our society that we should constantly strive towards a more equal world.

We hope we have done this show justice, and we would like to thank all of our fabulous crews for working tirelessly to make this production possible. Additionally, we would like to thank SLATE, especially our wonderful executive producer, Emily. We would also like to thank our producers, Winston and Hajra, and their assistant producer, Stephanie. You all are the best producers we could ask for. We would also like to give our deepest thanks to Ms. Maggio for spending her valuable time on the first floor and making us laugh. Many thanks to Ms. Zhang and Mrs. Rodriguez-Tabone for always supporting the STC. Finally, thank you to Ms. Bernstein for leading her tech crew and being super cool.

We hope you enjoy the show!
