Surging Films & Theatrics

 Who's Who

  • Nicholas Ray head shot

    Nicholas Ray

    as Roger Davis

Nicholas Ray (they/them) is so thrilled to be back for their second production with Surging. Nicholas has the pleasure of spending time on various Chicago stages as a vocalist. You may catch them rocking six inch stiletto heals, singing with Chicago’s premiere queer rock band: Too Much Molly Band. Nicholas performs at various private events, including weddings. They love writing/creating music, spending time with the ones they love and creating amazing memories in this crazy little thing called life. Nicholas appeared on NBC’s The Voice in 2016 Season 11.

  • Billy Surges head shot

    Billy Surges

    as Mark Cohen

Billy Surges (he/him) His theatrical journey started with RENT over 15 years ago and he is thrilled to reprise his role as Mark. Special shout out to his parents, Emma, and the entire company of SF&T who have kept us going throughout the years.

  • Daven Taba head shot

    Daven Taba

    as Tom Collins

Daven Taba (he/him) is overjoyed to be stepping into the shoes of the character that started his musical theatre journey fourteen years ago; but this time, with his home company SF&T. As one of the house music directors, Daven delights in any opportunity that he gets to play with his colleagues on stage... and this cast is stupid talented. Past SF&T acting credits include American Idiot (TUNNY), Dogfight (BERNSTEIN), SpongeBob the Musical (PLANKTON U/S), and Next to Normal (DR. MADDEN U/S). None of this would be possible without the support of Char, his kiddos, his friends, and of course the family he's found in this company. Life is short. Tomorrow is not guaranteed. No day but today.

  • Jadyn Hogue head shot

    Jadyn Hogue

    as Joanne Jefferson

Jadyn Hogue (she/her) is thrilled to make her debut with Surging Films & Theatrics! As a Chicago-based performer, she's embraced the opportunity to bring this pivotal story to life in her home city. Being part of Rent has been profoundly meaningful, serving as a powerful illustration that queer and trans liberation remains as vital today as ever.
