It's said it takes a village to raise a child. If that's the case I would present to you it takes a city to raise a child up in the arts and help them find their voices. Our year is beginning with a tale of importance which would not have been possible except for the numerous contributions of so many members of the Syosset community. This production alone involved over 60 students, staff and community members. There are so many to thank but our "little" company would especially like to offer our gratitude to the following:
Dr. Thomas L. Rogers for his continued support of the Theatre Arts at Syosset High School and in particular being so encouraging as we've been working so hard to continue building this award winning program. Because of you, we've been able to create a program that offers opportunities for these young artists to grow and tell stories of meaning.
The Association of Creative Thespians Parent Boosters and the parents of everyone in the cast and crew for their cooperation and understanding of the huge time commitment necesary for the success of this production. Thank you for trusting us with your children, not only for this production but also for all the shows throughout the years.
Dr. Durante, Mr. Gessner, and Mr. Ruffini for all the support as well as encouragement they've given to the students and for finding ways to help the logistics of theatre work in their busy lives. Thank you all for understanding that while technology may make our lives easier, the arts make our lives worth living.
George Storm as well as the entire custodial and security staffs for their help, understanding, and patience with all of our late night and weekend rehearsals.
Kathy Eliassof for her unwavering support of our program over so many years and for continuing to come to create lasting chronicles of our productions. Without her, and husband Morris Eliassof, these fleeting moments of art would be nothing more than the whispered memories of a dream.
Dr. Christopher Hale for continuing to be such a supportive force as we endeavor to continue bringing quality theatre to Syosset. We're so grateful for all of his support and for the vision he has been sharing of how our program can continue to grow for future students.
The members of the Technology department for allowing us the use of their classrooms during our productions.
Mr. Gregory Krajci for graciously coming on in the role of producer and "learning the ropes" of all it takes to bring forth an ACT production, your help has been so wonderful - welcome to the madness!
Tiffany Holtje and Neal Hagan for continuing to create theatrical magic and worlds within worlds that create the perfect environments for our imaginations to take flight. Without the dedication of these illusionists, none of what you see before you could have sprung from our stage.
To Maria Chambers and Patrick Gessner for making sure the basic elements needed for any theatrical production are there - light and sound. Your passion and enthusiasm are what make our productions consistently look and sound so good.
Amy Connor for always being here to help the students be clothed in just the right style, helping to always create the exact look needed for their characters and the production to come to life, and for being such an amazing bright spark during the crazy time that is "hell week". Without you none of this would be possible.
And lastly, to you our audience, for without you we have no purpose. A story without an audience is simply a breath without a reason. You give us the hearer-spectators that every production needs. We thank you for sharing your time with us and we hope you enjoy our tale.
