A virus is wreaking havoc on this country as we speak, over 200,000 Americans have died from Covid-19 and you have found your way to our brave little digital space, and we thank you. When I first read this play, the words of the playwright Charly Evon Simpson, kept echoing in my ears from our Zoom session with her, "I write about connections and this play is about memory." The issue of human connection is so important and on the tips of our tongues as we live day to day during this global pandemic. The characters in this play are going up against the virus of loneliness and various stages of depression, and at this state, months into a global pandemic-are not we all? Even First Lady Obama confessed to it during her recent podcast episode. We are all hurting and all must find ways to process our pain, grief and anxiety. Hopefully as you watch this show and watch this family move through to find what is next, how they can breathe and find moments of joy (do not worry, there is even dance and laughter in this work) in this grab bag of emotion, you also can find pathways to your peace, your joy, your bliss. Thank you for tuning in. Take care, and VOTE!
