Valerie Sheehy
as Susan
Valerie Sheehy (Susan) is making her debut with the Thalia Theare Troup with this production but has been active in local community theater for decades. Some of her favorite roles include Kate Keller in All My Sons, Ethel Thayer in On Golden Pond, Fighting Prawn in Peter and the Starcatcher, all at Curtain Call Theatre in Braintree, several appearances with the North River Theatre in Norwell, and more recently as Edna in Light House Studios’ production of the original musical The Pony Express, among others. She has been enjoying working with this talented cast and imaginative Director and hopes you will suspend belief and enjoy with us a day at the (surprising) beach!

Ariel Charney
as Young Girl
Aptly named after a famous Mermaid, this is Ariel’s first show with Thalia Theater Troupe and her second time sharing the stage with her mom! She made her first musical theater debut last summer as Baby Bird Girl in Seussical The Musical with First Congressional Church in Randolph.

Kate Funderburk
as Mermaid, Moon Snail, Ranger
Kate Funderburk actually IS a mermaid in real life, but tries to keep it under wraps. She’s happy to be in her second production with Thalia Theater Troupe after performing in From Colonial to Contemporary: A Quincy Celebration last fall. Other recent credits include Blood Brothers (Theater UnCorked), A Nice Family Gathering (Milton Players), and Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella (The Company Theatre). While on land, she also enjoys singing with the sINgSPIRE Virtual Choir (https://www.breathebravely.org/virtualchoir).
