A Letter From the Artistic Director
Good evening!
It is my pleasure to welcome you to either South Adams High School or the Bethel University Everest Rohrer Auditorium in beautiful downtown Mishawaka! As we finish up our second season, I continue to be amazed at how much 574 Theatre grows every day. Since last summer, the 574 Theatre team has been working constantly to improve, and grow in every way possible. This year we were able to add a summer Management Staff, as well as our first ever Acting Company. 574 Theatre hired more than double the total number of local theatre artists as last year, and have increased artist compensation across the board. All of this is only possible thanks to you all, and your continued support of 574 Theatre!!
Tonight, we bring to you the classic, Hello, Dolly!. This show holds a special place in my heart, and I'm so excited to present it to you tonight. Hello, Dolly! is a story about redemption, strength, love, and most of all, FUN. When I think classic Broadway musical, I immediately go to Hello, Dolly! and the stunning work of Gower Champion who orignally directed and choregraphed this show. The cast and crew have worked so hard over the last several weeks to produce this musical, and I hope you can sit back, relax, and enjoy our rendetion of the ever classic musical.
It's hard for me to believe we are closing our second summer season with this production. We have some very exciting productions in the near future! This fall, 574 Theatre will be producing, Godspell, which I had the pleasure to direct at Bethel University in fall of 2017. If you saw this produciton then, you're in for a real treat! The show is revamped with new actors and designers, and we're ready for take two! This Christmas, gear up for 574 Theatre's first ever Christmas production! We're excited to announce It's a Wonderful Life, Radio Play as our show this Decemeber! Dates for both productions will be announced soon. If you check out the back of the program, you'll see our 2020 summer season which includes The Diary of Anne Frank, Big Fish, The Sound of Music, and Rock of Ages! Along with our 3rd summer season, 574 Theatre will be presenting a 574NextGeneration Series, A Year with Frog and Toad, in March, and a 574Studio Series, Camelot Small Cast Edition, in November of 2020! We can't wait for the exciting things to come in the future!
I want to thank you for joining us this evening. Just by being here, you are buying into the dream and vision of 574 Theatre. I hope you have a great experience with us, and will consider joining us for the rest of our 2019 season and 2020 season, and many more to come!
Enjoy the show!
