Rhys Gallagher plays the role of Lockstock and has appeared in two productions at The American School in Japan. You may have seen him in High School Musical and The Drowsy Chaperone. He is grateful to his friends and family for their love and support and would like to thank all those involved in Urinetown for making this an enriching and memorable experience.

Ryo Kamibayashi
as Bobby Strong
Ryo has been professionally involved in musical theatre, with his first show being The Sound of Music as Fredrick with The Shiki Theatre Company in 6th grade. Ever since, he has enjoyed participating in musicals in and outside of school. He would like to dedicate his last show at ASIJ to Mr. Huber, an inspirational teacher who passed away 2/6/17.

Janelle Mendoza
as Penelope Pennywise
Urinetown is the 17th ASIJ production Janelle Mendoza has worked on. From the 6th grade, Janelle has worked as cast, ensemble, crew and director. She’s played many large roles in the past, most notably a Gangster in The Drowsy Chaperone. As a senior, she hopes to continue doing theatre through college. Outside of theatre, Janelle enjoys music and illustrating.

Valerie is so excited to be playing Little Sally in her fourth and final HS musical at ASIJ! Next year she will be studying theatre in the US. She would like to thank her family, friends and mentors for the nonstop support! All glory to God. @valeriegrespan

Hana Kabira
as Hope Cladwell
Hana Kabira is excited to perform her first leading role as Hope. She loves to dance and had the honor of being an assistant choreographer. Working also as a movie actor, she has found intriguing similarities and differences between the two. Everyone has worked so hard on this musical so she is very excited to share an exciting and comical theatrical experience :)
