  • Alex Hanshaw-Bhaskar

    as Davey

    Alex Hanshaw-Bhaskar (junior) is playing Davey and making his Barstow theatre debut in NEWSIES. He eagerly involves himself in the performing arts through the Lyric Opera of KC High School Honors Artists program, as well as Glee Club at Barstow and the Missouri High School Music Festival competitions where he has taken top honors the last two years. He is eager to expand his experience and is excited to be a part of this musical.

  • Caleb Chang

    as Crutchie

    Caleb Chang (Sophomore) is excited to participate in Barstow's production of NEWSIES as Crutchie. Caleb is an avid video game player who has also participated in Barstow's previous productions, PETER PAN JR., THE LION KING JR., THE WIZARD OF OZ, OUR TOWN, MONTY PYTHON'S SPAMALOT, JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT, WE WILL ROCK YOU, and THE ODYSSEY. He was also in JCC's production of THE KING & I, along with Shawnee Mission South's production of MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET. Caleb has said the long hours at rehearsals feel like minutes and would like to thank his family for their support and Ms. Mitchell, Mr. Kohler, and Mr. Swezy for introducing him to theatre.

  • Divya Dendi

    as Bunsen, Nun, Bowery Beauty, Newsie

    Divya Dendi (freshman) is happy to be in her fourth musical production at Barstow. She was previously cast as Zazu in THE LION KING JR., a narrator and Tim the Enchanter in MONTY PYTHON'S SPAMALOT, and Ursula in THE LITTLE MERMAID JR. Divya enjoys playing tennis and violin. She would like to thank her family, Mr. Kohler and Dr. Markley for their support.
