VPA Honors Theater Capstone Performance - April 25

The Catholic High School Of Baltimore

 End Notes

I am extremely proud of all of the students for working so hard over the past 10 months.  But, boy does time fly!! It seems like only yesterday that they were freshmen, working on our "virtual" A Christmas Carol (---whch still can be seen on Youtube, if you wish.)  In four years, they have been a part of 8 theater productions!!

This is the fifth graduating class of the VPA Theater Program that we have had. I came to TCHS in 2015 and started the VPA Theater Program. Our first graduating class in the program was 2020. We rehearsed our shows on line and made zoom videos of them, but did not have an in-school performance.

The class of 2024 is the largest VPA Theater class we've had so far with nine graduating seniors.

My seniors: Jordan, Natalie, Ava, Kaitlyn, Jess, Melyssa, Ambur, Elise and Camryn have done a fabulous job of transforming their acting skills and Production Booth skills into becoming "Directors." The skills one learns as a Director can lead them to many different careers, not just those in the Theater. I hope that they feel that they have acquired the confidence and leadership skills they need to make it in the world.

Even though Abbie Wernig is not in the VPA Theater Program she has been managing the Production Booth for all of the shows that we have performed since she was a freshman, which is very impressive. Also, Katie Meyers has been a wonderful helper with our backstage business over the years.

I wish all of my seniors the best of luck in their future endeavors and I sincerely hope that they never forget the fun and friendships that they enjoyed on our stage at The Catholic High School of Baltimore.
