    Cody Carlton

    Director

    Cody is a multiple award-winning actor, director, and designer. He serves as the Executive Artistic Director of CharACTers Theatrics in Gadsden, AL. He holds an M.A. in Theatre Arts Education for College and Communities from Regent University and a B.S. in English Language Arts Secondary Education from Jacksonville State University. His directing resume includes more than 50 productions including the Alabama premiere of Big Fish the Musical, Spamalot, Peter Pan, Ragtime, Shrek the Musical, Mary Poppins, winner of two IMEA Awards in 2016, and Les Miserables winner of three IMEA Theatre awards in 2015. He is married to fellow theatre artist, Santana Carlton, who serves as the artistic director for the national award-winning musical theatre children’s troupe, CCT Kids. Cody and Santana are expecting their first child, Jack Desmond, in September. Outside of the theatre, Cody also teaches 9th and 11th grade AP English and Drama at Gadsden City High School.

    Choreographer

    Annie is a longtime member of CharACTers. She is thrilled to have the chance to choreograph this show. Annie is an alumna of CCT Kids and is currently a student at JSU. She would like to thank her friends and family for their love and support.

  • Daniel Henson head shot

    Stage Manager

    Daniel is a native of Glencoe, AL. He has a degree in Electrical Engineering from Auburn and is employed by TGI, a software development company in Madison, AL. He enjoys working behind the scenes. He feels CharACTers brings families together and provides opportunities for the entire family to get involved. Daniel considers it an honor and privilege to be a part of such a fantastic organization.

    Debra Whittaker

    Stage Manager / Properties

    Debra has been involved with CharACTers since 2012. Debra has volunteered backstage, made costumes, constructed sets, advertised, raised funds, and performed in several productions. To her, CharACTers is an organization her entire family can get involved with. Three of her children have performed with CharACTers, and two of her other children have helped with set construction and backstage.
