From the Directors:
We are pleased to present the work of our students to the audiences of Teatro Eugene O'Neill in San Jose, Costa Rica. Teaching the performing arts in English in a Spanish speaking country has been an enriching cultural experience for us. We have seen our students develop a broader connection to the English language, but also gain a keen appreciation for the performing arts and the professionalism that is required of artists in this industry. With the knowledge that education is the key for people to realize their dreams, and the expertise of professional artists, the creation of a thriving community of performing artists and patrons is possible. We are happy to have you, as the audience, along with us on this journey. As professional artists in both theatre and TV/Film, we bring a passion for understanding the world through an artistic lens. It is our passions that guide us to a greater understanding of the world and ourselves. When we can express ourselves from the deepest places, we can change hearts and minds.
Special thanks to Centro Cultural Britanico that has hosted our classes as well as the invaluable friendship and guidance on this journey from the staff at the center, particularly Jonathan Cordero and Ana García that have been cheering us on as we grow our reach in this beautiful country.
In addition, many thanks to the staff and crew from Teatro Eugene O'Neill and Centro Cultural Costarricense Norteamericano for their continued support and making this performance possible.
Wishing you all many days filled with creativity and passion,
Raymond T. Williams
