The Cupcake Theater

 End Notes

March 12th, 2020: Broadway to go dark due to Covid-19 pandemic. The shock was felt from New York to East Hollywood and beyond. The theater community, and theater goers alike lost what was most important to them. For many it was a moment where we lost our sense of purpose. July 5th 2020, the theater community mourned together over the loss of Nick Coredeo. This was only to be the begining of worry, greif, anger, and confusion, that would last for what seemed like forever.

The Hollywood Majestic shut its doors over a year ago in the middle of the debut production in the space. No one knew if theatre in general would return, but specifically we did not know if this theater would ever get to see the promise of packed houses, intimate productions, laughter, tears, and lifelong comrodery. The space has a purpose that it may never have been able to see.

As we near 2022, the lockdown period, and the loss of live theater are begining to feel like a distant nightmare. Even with the uncertainty we still face, the joy of the arts is finding a way to return to our world and renew our sense of community. What makes live theater magical is the shared experience of both the audience and the performers. The give and take, the electricity, and the memories we create together are such a uniaque experience. To have been deprived of it for so long has been hard for all of us.

We thank you for returning to the newly rennovated Hollywood Majestic Theater and supporting the live arts. Thank you for allowing this space to finally achieve its purpose. Like Princeton, we've been waiting to find it for far too long. We truly welcome you to be part of our community and hope you will join us for the many openings, the many new creations, and all the new experiences we can once again share together. We are so happy to be able to open our doors and our hearts to you once again.

It'll only last a while
Life may be scary
But it's only temporary
Everything in life is only for now" - Avenue Q
