Bullets for Broadway - April 25 - May 03, 2013

The Eklektix Theatre Company

 End Notes

Greetings,

I want to thank you all for supporting the theatre community in Houston. This production marks the 3rd production of our theatre season with The Eklektix Theatre Company. I started this theatre company while working professionally in New York City, and  I wanted to establish a professional theatre company that produced entertaining pieces of theatre as well as produce pieces of theatre that tackled real life situations and circumstances while using the medium of theatre for social change. Pieces such as BULLETS FOR BROADWAY are pure fun and we are excited to partner with the wonderful management team and staff of The Hobby Center's Artista Restaurant.

Tonights production is an ode to the Great White Way, and what it takes to produce a musical. Although many of the characters and scenes are campy, this is a glimpse of what it takes to produce a piece a musical minus the mob! I am excited to bring you a funny and most of all campy piece of musical theatre. This cast has worked hard and I am truly proud of them. I know that we've made a few friends along the way and I look forward to working with them again. I want to thank our talented crew, The Hobby Center, Geoff and the Artista staff for making us feel at home. I want to thank you for all of your hard work and most of all I want to thank you, for coming out to see our show.

Using live theatre as a catalyst for change; the primary goal of The Eklektix Theatre Company is to produce quality theatre by the people and for the people. To achieve this, our company allots performance and educational opportunities to college students and Houston area musical theatre artists.

In the summer of 2012, Bryan-Keyth Wilson selected Duncan Sheik’s controversial rock musical “Spring Awakening,” rich with authentic emotion and the juxtaposition of struggles that span centuries and generations, to inaugurate this revival of the Ekelektix Theatre Company. The production received critical acclaim and performed to sold-out audiences throughout its run. It was this production that reinforced the vision and goal of the company.

Again, I want to thank you for coming to the theatre, and we welcome you to The Eklektix Theatre Family! Sit back and enjoy the show!

Creatively yours,

Bryan-Keyth Wilson
