Our Mission

Our mission is to inspire and promote the arts through live theatre in a way that recognizes the role that theatre and the arts play in improving the quality of life locally, nationally and internationally.

Who We Are
The Heather is a 501c3 not-for-profit professional theatre company dedicated to producing intimate, socially challenging, artistically brave and inspiring works of live theatre.

Our Namesake
The Heather is named after SAG-AFTRA actor, Heather Philipsen, whose courage and bravery during her time of struggle is an inspiration. The members of The Heather hope to allow her spirit and legacy of strength and genuine caring for others to live on through their performances and generosity to their community.

What We Do
Annually, we present 3-4 full length plays combined with 3-4 sketch style comedy shows. We donate a percentage of our ticket sales, concession sales, and private donations each show to a local charity determined by the nature of each production. Beneficiaries of past shows include: The Center for Women, Homes for Our Troops, The Animal Coalition of Tampa, The Special Warriors Foundation, The Innocence Project and many others.
