Falsettos - June 23 - June 25, 2022

The Next Chapter Actors

 FROM THE DIRECTOR

Hello and Welcome to our production of Falsettos! We are so thrilled that you are joining us for this performance and can’t wait for you to see what we have in store! This year marks our third production performed here at the Fox Cities P.A.C. and I truly believe that it is our best one yet, given the circumstances within the last two years we have faced. The performing arts have struggled tremendously throughout this time, but I feel very fortunate that we are able to still live on and spread a beautiful message for another year.

As an openly bisexual man, Falsettos is a show that is very near to my heart and I couldn’t be happier to say that we are one of two theatre companies in the nation who are performing this show right now. A lot has changed since 1979 and 1981 when the show takes place, but today’s story is more than just a show with gay people in it. This show is both humorous and heartwarming as well as passive aggressive and melancholy. It captures a vast array of topics that all unfold through beautiful lyrics and harmonies rather than speeches and each lyric has its own special message that helps to tell the chaotic lives that these characters encounter while also helping them find out who they truly are inside. The show does move rather fast, but the talent of this cast is beyond compare and we know that you’ll be hooked right off the bat. I’d say that the biggest message to take away from this all comes from the lyrics of our third number in the show, and that is “love can tell a million stories.” Everyone is deserving of love and happiness and you will see today just how many obstacles these characters have to go through to find the true meaning of what they desire.

Once again, I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for coming out to support us today. For being as small of a group as we are and for utilizing every resource we can (such as rehearsing in my parents’ garage) it is a blessing to have an audience show up to something that we have put a lot of hard work and dedication into and it is the most exciting feeling when we step onto the stage and into the spotlight for the first time in front of an audience. We are very happy to have you here!

Sit back, relax and enjoy a day in Falsettoland!
