CHARACTERS

Nin A singer 

Young Nin  A mask with braids 

Ma (Phoebe)A painter in her mid-nineties, Nin's mother, a mask.

Pa (Jimmy)Nin's father, a mask, also in his mid-nineties, who has aphasia (difficulty finding words) from old age. 

The Crone A mask, all-knowing keeper of secrets, guide, turner of compost.

She works in the shadows, taking care of things.

  

 

SETTING

Nin's studio

Ma and Pa's nursing home apartment 

An arch with colored silks, one for each family member: 

Pa (Jimmy), Ma (Phoebe), Peepsie (little Phoebe), Marnie, Jimmy Jr., Nin, John
